Barny Askin BVSc, MA, VET MB
Director, Production Animal Veterinarian
Barny graduated from Cambridge University in 1997. Following three years in mixed practice in the UK, he decided to head over to New Zealand for a working OE. He never quite made it back home and has been working for Totally Vets (previously Manawatu Vet Services) since 2000. Barny is involved in all areas of production animal medicine but has a particular interest in BVD eradication programs, bull fertility and lameness prevention.
Emma Scott BVSc
Production Animal Veterinarian, Team Leader
Emma was raised on a mixed sheep, beef and dairy farm in Northland and has been passionate about animals and farming all her life. After graduating from Massey in 2000 she worked in mixed animal practice for Manawatu Vet Services in Feilding. After stints in the UK and Whanganui, and a break with family, she returned to Totally Vets in 2017 as a Production Animal Vet. She loves the Manawatu and enjoys all production animal work, especially getting to know and help our farming clients.
Hamish Pike BVSc
Production Animal Veterinarian
Hamish began working for Manawatu Vet Service (which has since become Totally Vets) in 1996 after graduating from Massey. He decided to spread his wings in 1999 and head off on an O.E, where he ended up working in Norfolk, England in a mixed animal vet practice. In 2001, he decided to return to the Manawatu and Totally Vets. Hamish's main interest is production work, dairy and beef cattle, sheep, deer and anything else that is presented to him on farm. His real passion is working with his clients and helping them achieve their goals.
Juan Klue BVSc
Production Animal Veterinarian
Juan joined Totally Vets in 2013 after graduating from Massey University. Having a farming background meant working within the production side of the business made sense to him. His main interests lie in both dairy and beef cattle, sheep and deer. Left to his own devices, being out on a farm is always his preference than back at the clinic behind a desk.
Georgie Martin BVSc, DipSciTech
Mixed Animal Veterinarian
Georgie grew up with deer and polo ponies on a farm in North Canterbury and initially moved up to Wellington to study law. Returning to the family farm after a year of law school, Georgie realised she wanted to work outside rather than in an office for the rest of her life. So, she changed to BVSc at Massey University, graduated in 2020 and has decided to start her career in the Manawatu with us.
Celine Friedrich BVSc
Mixed Animal Veterinarian
Celine grew up in Tauranga and moved to the Manawatu for her degree where she decided she liked the area and wanted to stay after graduating in 2021. She is interested in both small and large animals but has a particular love for alpacas. Outside of work you'll find Celine exploring New Zealand's outdoors or relaxing and spending time with her husband, puppy and two cats.
Christine Sinclair
Veterinary Technician
Christine joined the Totally Vets large animal team in May 2021 to help out with teatsealing, before joining us permanently as a vet tech! Christine enjoys getting out on-farm and building relationships with clients - many of whom she knows from the dairy industry. Christine spends her time outside of work running her dairy farm with her husband and running around after her three children.
Carla Sheridan
Veterinary Technician
Carla has worked with the company at various times since 1994. She has been based at our Feilding clinic since 2014 organising our production animal vets and developing our in-clinic laboratory services. Carla has moved into a commercial role to help service our farmers out on the road with their seasonal requirements as well as assisting the vets with large animal tech work.
