Spey and neuter clinic

Vets at our Feilding branch perform desexing operations daily from Monday to Friday.

Animals to be desexed are dropped into the clinic at 8:00 am, not having had access to food since the previous night. They may however have access to water during this time. The surgery will be performed during the morning, and most animals are ready to be collected from 15:30 on the same day. A nurse will contact the owner after the surgery has been completed, to arrange a discharge time.

During the procedure, the animal will be given a general anaesthetic, and will therefore be unaware of the surgery occurring. All our bitch spey and dog neuter prices include a fluid drip during the surgery and extra take-home pain relief. The fluid drip is standard for these surgeries as time spent under anaesthetic may lead to a drop in blood pressure; the fluids help to support the heart in its function during this time, which is particularly beneficial for older animals.

If you would like to get your pet neutered, please ring us at the Feilding clinic on 06 323 6161 for an appointment.  For more information on the advantages of desexing your pet, read more ...
